Established in 2010 by Helen Fitzroy, driven by the profound personal tragedy of losing her husband Steve in an underground mining accident in 1991, Miners’ Promise has grown into an indispensable resource for families impacted by the inherent dangers of the mining profession. Now, a well-established charity providing compassionate care, guidance, practical assistance and financial support, Miners’ Promise is dedicated not just to immediate crisis management, but also to the long-term welfare of mining families. Today, Miners’ Promise is recognised for its comprehensive approach to support, providing both immediate and sustained assistance across the mining community, Australia-wide. Our Purpose To provide compassionate care, guidance, trauma-informed grief counselling, practical assistance and financial support for bereaved mining and resources families. Our Promise To support families to navigate their grief and move forward in their own time, in their own way.
