Minor Detail provides design engineering and precision prototyping for scientific instrumentation, specialising in electrochemistry, microfluidics, and applied physics. We are a registered supplier for leading research institutions, including UCL, Imperial College London, UKRI-STFC and deep-tech startups—particularly teams without the in-house capability to design or build custom experimental equipment. We offer fast turnaround on high-tolerance machining and robust design engineering, producing components and assemblies optimised for performance and reliability. Recent work includes Electrolyser cells, battery test rigs, beamtime sample environments, microfluidic flow cells, and opto-mechanical assemblies.
