Mirabal Photography

We are Brittany & Stephen Mirabal, and we are photographers in Farmington, New Mexico. We have been married for 10 years with our four amazing, beautiful children. We have been a photographers for 8 years. When I, Brittany, was preparing for the birth of my oldest, my daughter, Stephen asked me what I had always wanted to do, but was never able to. “If you had nothing holding you back, what would you do?” He asked me one day, while I was pregnant, lying on the couch eating Cheez-its. I thought about it for a minute and told him that I had always wanted to be a photographer. He helped me finally make it happen, and I’ve been so grateful. I enjoy being outdoors, writing, spending time with my little family, and reading when I’m able to find the time. Mothering my 4 children is definitely, first and foremost, my full time job, and I wouldn’t trade it for anything in the world. Seeing their faces light up when they accomplish something, receiving hugs and kisses for no reason at all, their humor, their forgiveness… Nothing compares. My second job, my other passion, is photography. I really focus on having more of a photojournalist style with my work. I honestly believe that the most captivating photographs are candid. Real moments that are happening in between the planned moments. I prefer not to necessarily create a frilly portrait session, but to capture your unique life. I think this is the only way to truly have timeless photographs to treasure for years to come. I want the photos I take to invoke emotion, to tell a story. That is what we are about. I would absolutely love to document part of your story.
