Consultancy in Maitland on the York Peninsula, South Australia, providing technical services in the disciplines of structural and industrial engineering: trading as Roy Harrison & Associates. Formerly operating in the Tea Tree Gully area and across the Northern Suburbs of Adelaide. Main area of specialisation is developing pre-specified structural systems, in particular cold-formed steel structures (AS4600), producing standard designs and otherwise conducting engineering assessment for inclusion of custom features. Other materials covered include hot-rolled steel (AS4100), Timber (AS1720), and occasionally: Aluminium (AS1664), Concrete (AS3600). Standard pre-specified and/or custom designs produced for: 1) Sheds (domestic, industrial and rural) 2) Canopies, carports and verandahs 3) Retaining Walls (sleeper) 4) Water Tanks 5) Balustrades, guard railing 6) Decks 7) Repetitively manufactured structural products 8) Miscellaneous structures Typically use in-house software developed using Excel/VBA, and can customise to suit specific needs. Also use standard engineering and design software such as Microstran and Multiframe, along with Acad LT and intelliCAD. Have own in-house 2D frame analysis software written in Pascal and alternative version written in Excel/vba available to be customised to suit manufacturers specific needs.
