Welcome to Misfit Music! My name is Zach Reid and I am a professional musician and guitar teacher with over 20 years of experience in the music industry. I offer in-person music lessons at my home studio in Vanier, Ottawa. I specialize in teaching Classical Guitar to children aged 10 and up and adults of all ages. I teach beginner, intermediate and advanced levels. I also offer beginner, intermediate, and advanced Master Classes for students who are looking to gain practice in performance. I began Misfit Music to create an inclusive approach to music, fostering a love of knowledge and music to all demographics. Whether you are looking to learn to read sheet music, complete RCM exams, or build your performance skills, Misfit Music will support you to reach your goals. I am currently taking new students. My musical background: My passion for guitar began at a young age. I formed a punk rock band, Brain Tuel, in highschool performing and recording as the lead guitarist. I have performed as a lead guitarist across Ontario, opening for such artists as Hedley and Faber Drive. Alongside my love of punk rock, I began to develop expertise in Classical Guitar. I have completed an Honors Bachelor of Arts in Music, specializing in Classical Guitar under the guidance of classical guitarist Bruce French. As a Classical Guitarist I perform at weddings and special events, and teach music lessons to people of all skill levels.
