Social Mobility does not face a demand, supply or support problem. It’s a visibility and connection problem across the ecosystem. We at Mission Beyond believe that digital at scale can help tackle this problem. We are a dynamic social enterprise focused on empowering young people from lower-income or low socio-economic backgrounds by improving connection to timely support and discovery of employment opportunities. One of the main barriers is that under-resourced young people lack confidence and struggle to navigate the transition into the world of work. Finding the right support, at the right time, is tough. As is often said, ‘talent is everywhere, but opportunity is not’. The process of matching the right talents with the right chances, building lasting connections, and learning from best practices is harder than it should be. Our objective is to address the gaps in the support system by more systematically connecting young people to both service partners and employers, harnessing technology to do so via the delivery of a nationally available digital platform.
