Mitsuori Architects

Mitsuori Architects is a boutique architectural design studio founded in 2007 by Matthew Murfett and Melissa Lim. Our directors have over 30 years of experience working across a wide range of award winning projects in Australia, the UK, Europe and the USA. Mitsuori literally means ‘threefold’. It takes three lines to form the first planar figure. In the first three numbers, all others are synthesized. Three simultaneously represents the starting point and the end point or that which is complete. Mitsuori represents a kind of minimalist approach; a reminder that often the most appropriate design solution is about less not more. This design philosophy underpins our search for site responsive design outcomes that reflect the true values and character of a place and the people that inhabit it.
