Mixed

Mixed is a one-woman textile brand and design studio run by me, Nasrin Jafari. Growing up with a Japanese mom and Iranian dad, I adopted a bunch of different styles, interests and attitudes about life. I’ve been a dancer, I’ve been a teacher, I’ve been a conference organizer. I’ve had a fohawk, bangs, no bangs, middle part, bowl cut, you name it. Now I’m a designer based in New York City. I used to hate how much I jumped around, but now I’m learning to celebrate all my mixed parts. I created Mixed to give myself, and other women, the freedom to honor their mixedness too, and let’s be honest, to spend my days designing patterns, playing with color and obsessing over process to create beautifully hand-crafted products.
