Mobile Payment Solutions (MPS) is a Zambian‐based software company specializing in payment and transaction processing systems. Established in 2008, the company has established a track record of designing and developing reliable enterprise applications for numerous organizations. Our client base includes MTN Mobile Money, Airtel Money, Investrust Bank, Multichoice and Bayport Financial Services, organizations to whom we have successfully delivered a varying range of cost-effective, customized systems. MPS is a registered Payment Systems Business, regulated by the Bank of Zambia. Why we exist For most of its 15 million people, the Zambian economy has remained largely a cash economy with only 15% of the population banked. The unmet demand for cash alternatives, coupled with approximately 7 million active mobile phones has created new opportunities for electronic and mobile commerce. MPS was founded to exploit these opportunities, helping to create an ecosystem that sees the gradual replacement of cash with faster, safer and more efficient electronic payments. We provide value to corporate clients through implementation of payment system services and systems, having been instrumental in the launch of services such as ZAIN’s maKwacha (now Airtel Money), MTN Mobile Money and Bayport’s Kwacha Mover Money Transfer service. We continue to innovate and deploy products and services for our clients, formulating and implementing effective mobile strategies that address real-world challenges unique to our Zambian market and environment.
