22 years ago, the Industrial Development Bureau (IDB) under MOEA, the agency responsible for nurturing Taiwan's ICT industry came about the idea to build a dynamic platform to identify talents in Taiwan, and introduce innovations to propel industrial growth."Mobileheroes" was then created to become the longest-running tech challenge in Taiwan, greatly supported by Taiwan's government and industry partners. Since 2002, when the market for smart phones/ devices started sprouting, the contest theme focused on antenna and APP design. In 2014, the Internet of Things (IoT) started to draw everyone’s attention, where our topics were then designed in alignment with the industry trend. Every year the platform attracts hundreds of contestants to submit proposals for new ideas. Most importantly, they get to engage with the industry, find mentors and even establish business relationships with these stakeholders. In a nutshell, “Mobileheroes” offer a platform for innovative ICT applications, products/ solutions with software/ hardware integration to address pain points in different verticals.
