Modon means cities. What we wanted to bring behind calling the publishing house “Modon” is diversity, difference, multiculturalism, and acceptance of others. In Modon, we believe that diversity is the main motive and incentive of human development, and without this diversity, civilizations cannot be formed. We believe that writing should carry this diversity and difference, not only because it is rich, but also because it is a human right that we must learn to respect. And because we went through difficult humanitarian conditions, we thought about providing to future generations what makes them believe that peace lies in diversity and difference. So we searched for books that support our orientations and visions and provide our readers with models that make them believe in the importance of cultures and civilizations outside their borders and the experiences of societies and cities whose inhabitants lived in wars, peace, development, openness, and different feelings of hatred, love, curiosity and a passion for discovery… Modon for Publishing, Printing and Distribution Founded in 2020 by two people interested in art and culture: Dima Al-Humosh is a Syrian fine artist Mahmoud Al-Adawi is an Egyptian novelist and writer With a group of young people who support the idea and vision of the house. And as we saw it; there is a diversity in Modon’s choices for the titles of its books, the most important of which are written by women voyagers to the cities of the world, explorations of unknown worlds, popular and folkloric stories, history of minorities, human experiences, and history of unknown societies, scout books, football and their relationship to society. We hope to find an echo of what we aspire to in our cooperation with you.
