Mondejar Gallery

Founded in 2008 by art patron and curator Minerva Mondejar Steiner, with the support of Swiss film director Michael Steiner, Mondejar Gallery is a global hub for contemporary art. Known for its innovative exhibitions, the gallery fosters cultural dialogue and creative exploration. Within two years, Mondejar Gallery earned international acclaim, featured in the Louis Vuitton Art Guide and extensively covered by Swiss media, including Tages Anzeiger, NZZ, SRF, and arttv.ch. Each exhibition, curated by Minerva Mondejar Steiner, celebrates originality and meaningful artistic engagement. The gallery’s Old Masters and Artefacts Collection showcases works from the European Renaissance to the 20th century, celebrating humanity’s artistic legacy. It also features artefacts and subfossils, linking history, nature, and art to inspire appreciation for heritage and creativity. Under the JE Mondejar Computer College Association, a Swiss-based non-profit, Mondejar Gallery supports the JE Mondejar Computer College in Tacloban City, Philippines. Following super-typhoon Haiyan, Minerva Mondejar Steiner founded the M. Mondejar Steiner Foundation to rebuild the college, launch feeding programmes, and provide scholarships for underprivileged students. Mondejar Gallery is committed to social responsibility, supporting initiatives such as The Salt of the Earth, led by Sophie Hunter and Benedict Cumberbatch, WellChild, under Prince Harry’s patronage, Planethon 365, an environmental advocacy group, The Waray Project, which publishes children’s books, and the Protect Our Planet Association, focused on environmental conservation. As a supporter of the St. Moritz Art Film Festival, Mondejar Gallery organises cultural events, including a Film Benefit featuring Filipino director Brillante Mendoza and his Cannes-acclaimed film Ma’ Rosa. These efforts highlight the gallery’s commitment to global talent and cultural exchange.
