Mont-Blanc Project
Compute efficiency and energy efficiency are, more than ever, major concerns for future exascale systems. Since October 2011, the Mont-Blanc project has set itself the objective of designing a new type of computer architecture around Arm technology, an architecture capable of delivering a new level of performance/energy ratio for real High Performance Computing (HPC) applications. Most recently, the Mont-Blanc 2020 project started. It is a spin-off of the Mont-Blanc projects, which aims to trigger the development of the next generation of European industrial processor for Big Data and HPC. These projects receive funding from the @EU_H2020 Research & Innovation Programme under grant agreements n° 671697 and 779877. They are coordinated by Bull, an Atos company.
