More Than Sickle Cell

More Than Sickle Cell is a non-profit organization 501(C)3. MTSC was created to build awareness for sickle cell anemia, while sharing the trails and personal struggles that come along with the disease. Our mission is to build sickle cell awareness by creating a mindful community, while giving those who are affected by sickle cell a voice to express their personal outlooks and experiences. Our vision is to live in a world where sickle cell anemia is globally recognized as a serious incurable disease as well as becoming a prominent health issue in today’s society. Among our goals is the need to give individuals with sickle cell the ability to speak, and express their personal experiences. We accomplish this with our social media outreach strategies: such as highlighting a different sickle cell warrior each month on our website (called Warrior of the Month) to inform the public how difficult and extreme the circumstances can when living with SCD. We also have fundraisers, events, and set up health literature information tables in various locations throughout the city.
