Morris Arts
Established in 1973, Morris Arts is celebrating its 50th Anniversary of engaging and building communities through the arts. MORRIS ARTS' guiding principles include the belief that the arts are vital to the social fabric and economic prosperity of the area, act as a catalyst for social change, and enrich the lives of everyone in the community. Our varied programs and services serve to inspire, connect and engage. They include arts education programs for children in grades K-12, the creation of innovative community-building arts events, including concerts, gallery walks and public art exhibits, and support of area artists and arts organizations through funding, advocacy and professional development. A passionate champion and advocate of the arts, Morris Arts’ goal is to create more livable, vibrant and sustainable communities. We achieve this by serving the community with: • Arts in Education programs – we provide a multitude of resources to schools which enables them to bring curriculum-based arts programming to their students. • Community Arts Events – as a central resource for arts in the area, we are committed to making our county more livable by providing free and affordable concerts/performances and art exhibits for diverse audiences of all ages. • Support of Local Artists and Arts Organizations – we provide them with opportunities for exhibitions, performances, workshops, networking, funding and awards. • Arts Advocacy – we take a leadership role in advocating for the arts, including supporting arts organizations, cultivating relationships that encourage support for the arts, promoting the arts, and celebrating those that have made an impact through the arts.
