Motherquilts

MotherQuilts is a Pune based social initiative that involves the manufacturing and exporting traditional handmade quilts, also known as Godhadi. The prime objective of the organisation is to bridge the gap between rural skilled quilters and the urban inhabitants merely looking for product of authenticity and quality. It aims at providing sustainable employment opportunities for women belonging to socially and economically underprivileged strata, as well as preserving the rich cultural heritage of handmade artifacts with the vision to build an economically sustainable and socially empowered artisan society by establishing the value chains for traditional Indian art such as hand-loom and quilting.
