Move For Men

Move for Men is a grassroots project aiming to support men's health and wellbeing via walking groups and community-based events. It aims to be a source of support, connection, and mate-ship for all fathers, brothers, sons, mothers and daughters in the local community. We hope that during these events, men can freely and informally share their experiences. Breaking the stigma around mental health while creating a safe and supportive environment. We aim to work in partnership with men's health organisations and charities to raise money and create awareness for suicide prevention and other health issues being tackled by men daily. Move for Men was founded from the stories and experiences shared by fathers, sons and friends during a weekly coastal walk in the eastern suburbs of Sydney. The camaraderie experienced during these walks sparked the need to extend the invitation to all men in their local communities, to encourage a discussion about any issues in an informal matter, be it health, mental wellbeing, personal or anything that may be affecting them to show them that we walk all together.
