Movement Purpose

In 2020 during the covid-19 pandemic,'movement +PURPOSE' was created by CARMAN CHAN to offer accessible and quality movement classes to the community online while supporting initiatives within the city of Toronto. Her belief is that the root of fitness is wellness through movement and community, and in that, there is joy. All movement classes are inspired by training and exploration in barre, pilates, yoga and dance. The result is a uniquely thoughtful and challenging class that flows seamlessly, sequenced to slowly build heat and strength throughout the entire body. Carman approaches each class with intent to provide an all-inclusive practise that tends to the group as a whole. Personal training options are also available. All movement services are offered with sliding scale options so that we can meet wherever you are at. High quality wellness should be accessible for everyone. Beyond this, the mission is to stay connected as we move through this pandemic collectively, while also raising awareness and supporting our neighbours in need. And so, 100% of proceeds from one fundraiser class plus a portion of all proceeds is donated to a featured organization every month. To sign up or learn more, visit
