Let's head back to 1963 when Joseph “Butch” Surwilo, Jr. was working as a bowling alley assistant at his family’s lanes. One day while at work, a local league asked Butch for help in securing trophies for their annual tournament. With a keen sense and hope of one day owning his own business, Butch picked up trophies from a local hardware store and sold them at cost, which ultimately led to more orders. That same year, with the support of his father, Joe Sr, Butch established Mr. Trophy & Company in his very own garage. From the start, Butch vowed to run his business with integrity and respect for his customers, vendors, and employees. That mission never wavered. With compassionate nature and integrity, Mr. Trophy grew to be a leader in the awards recognition industry of New England. In 2019, the family business would continue with a new father-daughter duo. After 57 years of running Mr. Trophy, 80-year-old Butch sold his company to present-day-owners Thomas Yandow and Aubrey Craig.
