Ms Work Space

MS Work Space and its resources were developed to assist businesses in creating the best possible work environment for employees affected by chronic diseases such as multiple sclerosis (MS). The program has been built in partnership with a team of experts in human resources (HR), benefits management, managed care, and patient advocacy. Collectively, we agree that workplace productivity and satisfaction can be affected by health concerns, both when the employee is directly affected and when they take on the role of caregiver to a loved one. Chronic disease, which affects more than half of all adults and is the leading cause of disability and death in the US, has a profound impact on the workplace. Diseases such as MS, rheumatoid arthritis (RA), and diabetes, among others, can significantly affect the workplace by reducing work productivity, increasing absenteeism, and increasing healthcare costs. This program helps build a partnership between HR and employees, educates employers on the human and financial impact of chronic disease on an organization, and inspires employers to implement positive change to better support their employees’ lives. Tools and resources include the MS Estimator, a 5-episode Podcast series, and an employee census tool to help companies survey the prevalence and impact of caregiving among their employees.
