Mt Albert Ponsonby Afc

Mt Albert Ponsonby has been an integral part of the community since the merger of Mt Albert Old Boys and Ponsonby FC over 40 years ago. Based at Anderson Park, Mt Albert, we draw our membership from the local area surrounding suburbs. Run by a volunteer committee, we have the aim of growing football across all age groups in our local area. Mt Albert Ponsonby is a small friendly club and one of our primary objectives is to provide a well-organised community facility for juniors and youth to enjoy recreation in the form of football, developing their fitness, life skills and knowledge in the process. Currently, the club has nine senior teams both men’s and women’s, 9 junior teams and a database of approximately 300 members including volunteers and Life members. We are looking to build on solid foundations and increase membership numbers, especially in the Junior and Youth teams for the 2018 season by enhancing their relationships with the local schools and other community groups. The 2018 season will see the Men’s first team (the most senior team) coached by Scott MacKay and Jacob Weaver. They will be playing in the Northern Region Football League Division 1, the second tier of Auckland football, with the aims of securing Premier division football in 2019.
