Mts Houston Section

The Houston Section of the Marine Technology Society (MTS) is the Society's largest Section with around 800 members and numerous supporters. It is dedicated to further knowledge and understanding of marine technology, and it application to the offshore oil and gas industry. The Section holds monthly luncheons - at which leading Operators and Independents discuss cutting-edge offshore developments, case histories and other topics pertaining to marine technology. In addition, the Section hosts the annual OUTLOOK CONFERENCE, a Professional Writing Seminar, and three annual fund-raisers - a Clays Tournament, a Golf Tournament and an Annual Barbecue Social. Profits generated by these events and from the generous sponsorships of member companies support the Section's scholarship fund. A large number of scholarships are awarded each year and support students involved in marine sciences as well as students in other academic fields. The Section supports an active Young Professionals group designed to encourage, mentor and provide networking opportunities for young industry professionals forging careers in the offshore oil and gas industry.
