We started out as RIVER MARCH working towards the rejuvenation of Mumbai rivers. We are happy to inform you that after nearly 10 years of tireless efforts and due to the support of the public and Corporate like yours, State Government has closed the tenders for Rs. 1450 crores for the rejuvenation of Dahisar, Poisar, and Oshiwara rivers. The contractors are in place and in few years, we hope to see clean flowing Mumbai rivers. Now MUMBAIMARCH has shifted its focus on finding solutions for the horrific traffic congestion on Mumbai roads under our banner ROADMARCH. RoadMarch is a public movement working for the improvement of Mumbai’s infrastructure by focusing the attention of the authorities on finding solutions on traffic congestion and other minor and major issues affecting the lives of Mumbai citizens. Mumbai is the financial capital of India and as you are aware, citizens of our city for the past two decades are facing immense hardships, loss of lives in local trains, precious time, fuel, money, and health due to the heavy traffic congestion on our roads. This is also a heavy economic loss for our country and having a direct impact on the GDP. We successfully convinced the Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai (MCGM) officials with the plan made by the students at Aditya College of Architecture, for the construction of Integrated Transport Hub for outstation private buses at the vacant Octroi Check Nakas situated at Dahisar, Mulund, and Vashi. Earlier we had brought to the notice of MMRDA officials of the slow work being done on Metro Work by our movement #MumbaiMetroMess and we filed a PIL in Bombay High Court. Now we are working on Road Traffic issues mainly on the Development Plan (D.P) 1967/1991/2034 where we identified the missing link because of slums, Private lands, and Government lands (Forest, FCI, Airport Authority, and Army Cantonment).
