30% of Americans are wearing smart watches or fitness trackers, the devices collect a trove of physiological and behavioral data. And while the medical and scientific fields have started incorporating these devices, the legal field is lagging. Reasons for this are challenges in admissibility and a lack of tools tailored to the legal system. Currently, this gap results in unused crucial evidence that could support justice. At My Data Unlocked, we are developing algorithms to enhance the reliability of wearable data and ensure that such data can meet the stringent requirements of the US legal system. Our solutions empower attorneys to present concrete, physiological data as evidence of injuries. We quantify the impact on clients’ daily activities, overall quality of life, and increased risk of all-cause mortality.
