Myanmar Ocean Project
Discarded fishing gear is one of the biggest threats to marine life around the globe. Each year, about tons of fishing gear end up in the ocean. In Myanmar, the pollution caused by fishing nets is endangering marine mammals as well as people’s livelihoods. Our mission is to restore and protect the health of Myanmar’s ocean. Therefore, we are working on removing fishing gear that found its way into the ocean and engage with fishing communities to find sustainable local solutions to this problem.
