From Jesus's parables to Aesop's fables, stories teach morality, display dignity, find connection, touch hearts, and open minds like a powerful wand, offering healing to the reader and author. Shakespeare urged us to give words to our sorrows to keep our hearts from breaking, while D.H. Lawrence said that we shed our sickness in books.
