Mzcl

MZCL, a.k.a. mezclador, is an independent contemporary culture agency originally created in São Paulo back in 2014, today established as an artist-run publishing project established in Barcelona. We create and are enthusiasts of works that are not the consequences of reflections, but are themselves critical thought. So far MZCL’s projects have been mostly based on video and digital content, although we transit through a variety of artistic disciplines reflecting the role of images in contemporary visual culture. We’re also quite crossed by discussions about technopolitics and how the tech-fetishized society shapes and colonizes mindsets. In 2021, our focuses are free culture, artist books and not ever published (or translated) authors. Big shout out to everyone who was part of the network in early times, especially Carol Gutierrez, Paulo Teixeira, Xenya Bucchioni and Daniel Apolinário.
