Industry needs to play its role in providing opportunities for members of the communities in which they operate. Not just by providing jobs, but by providing careers. Careers begin the moment someone takes that first step towards building the skills they need to achieve their success. Key to achieving success is the ability to apply skills learnt not only at school, or TAFE, or university, or other training provider, but also skills learnt through experience. Many industries have been leading the way for many years, e.g through paid apprenticeships, but there is so much more to do, particularly in the professional services field.
