Sophie von Laer is a compassionate coach, engineer, and consultant. With over a decade working as a coach and consultant for companies like Northrop Grumman, Lockheed Martin, and several three-letter agencies. Sophie has vast experiences in creating sustainable solutions for her clients to empower them to achieve higher levels of personal and professional success. She has conducted several organizational-wide workshops using the latest leadership development methods. Sophie has invented a robotic arm (patented) that allows people with disabilities to use optical signals (EOG) to move their prosthetics seamlessly. Additionally, she has performed an extensive brain-study implanting a nano-carbon electrode in the brain to measure stress, pulsing, and memory function. She has published two papers highlighting this brain experiment. These papers have since paved the way for future discoveries that could potentially lead a finding a cure for chronic depression, stress and even possibly be used as a permanent cure for Alzheimer's disease (hippocampus-based electrodes). Sophie’s current focus, as a part of her Ph.D. work in Organizational Leadership, is on Neuroleadership (the combination of Neuroscience and leadership development). She has seen the tremendous results using neuroscience-based coaching in creating behavioral change and creating life-altering cognitive habits. Furthermore, Sophie has education and experience in decision analytics-system engineering (M.S.) her ability to incorporate system thinking, has given her the needed extra advantage when her clients require her to engage in complex organizational problems. She has held a top-secret security clearance working as a risk manager, decision analyst, and system engineer before pivoting her career to purely focusing on coaching leaders. Sophie is inspired by agile methodology when working with clients. She is a supportive coach who has made has made the betterment of the human condition her life goal.
