Naik-Neenan Studios

I’m a young photographer whose work centres around varying forms of trauma; sexual, racial and intergenerational, using experimental analogue photographic techniques. My interest in photography started as soon as I hit double digits. Influenced by my father and grandmother’s photographs, I started formally studying photography at A-Levels along with sociology and physical education. I continued my studies at university, where I am currently working on my BA (Hons) Arts. I started studying at Falmouth University for my first year and later transferred to Napier University. Before starting university, I spent a brief period traveling and working aboard. These cultural influences from all the places I’ve visited have shaped my work since I started. I hope to continue to travel the world to gain new perspectives and absorb new inspirations for future work. I believe I need to take a role in destigmatising these traumas, so they become a part of mainstream discussions that impart real change.
