NASHLX is an online marketplace that enables direct transactions in hardwood lumber, cross ties, pallets and other by-products between sawmills and buyers such as pallet manufacturers, construction companies, cabinetry companies, railways, etc. NASHLX offers both a spot market for immediate delivery and a forward market for future delivery. The seller creates a profile that informs NASHLX of its inventory and pricing preferences. The buyer creates a profile that informs NASHLX of its purchasing needs as well as its delivery and pricing preferences. NASHLX matches the sellers with buyers. Neither side needs to find the other. Based on inputs from both the sellers and buyers, NASHLX algorithms match the seller with like-minded buyers and enter them into pending contracts at a willing buyer-willing seller price that each side can accept, reject or counter.
