National Performance Advisory Group

The National Performance Advisory Group (NPAG) is an NHS organisation that exists to bring about continuous improvement in the performance, quality, fitness-for-purpose and value for money of the NHS. Each year we help some 600 NHS managers, who in turn contribute to national NHS improvements through NPAG’s forums. Forums we facilitate are Shared Networks, Best Value Groups and Benchmarking. Each group enables peers to meet, network, critically compare and review NHS services to achieve continuous improvement. Current groups: Car Parking & Sustainable Travel Clinical Engineering Decontamination Emergency Planning Resilience & Response Energy Estates Facilities Health Visiting & School Health Services Health, Safety & Risk Management IT and Medical Connectivity National District Nurses Temporary Workforce Operating Theatres Sustainability Telecoms Transport & Logistics Violence Reduction & Security Management Network Waste Management NPAG is a hub for NHS benchmarking studies. Benchmarking is conducted in compliance with the internationally recognised ’Benchmarking Code of Conduct’. To enable managers to solve problems, share documents and request advice at any time, the NPAGNetwork provides an online information exchange with access to 600 peer contacts. We create bespoke training workshops and conferences on subjects from Clinical Engineering to Occupational Health and Customer Care. Our comprehensive event management service is provided to public and private sector clients, for conferences, workshops and events. Unusually for a national NHS organisation, NPAG is a self-financing trading division of a regional NHS body, the East of England Ambulance Service NHS Trust. This structure reflects our historical origins, and as NPAG’s host, the Trust ensures sound governance.
