Nawaya has the vision to build an active network of community-based organizations that preserve and promote Egyptian heritage food systems. Our mission is to create seasonal tour programs that are viable for the tourism sector and generate income for small scale farming families. We do this through: Outreach events that promote heritage food for community health and income generation Training on community-led food activities such as planting, harvesting, processing, catering, and sale of heritage foods Developing online medias to promote Egyptian food heritage to wider audiences Bridging the tourism sector to partner with community-based organizations in heritage food tours
