Needham Community Council

The Needham Community Council is a private non-profit organization which supports people in Needham who have under-met health, educational or social needs and promotes volunteerism, community and a sense of shared responsibility. The Needham Community Council has been helping Needham residents since 1930 with a wide variety of programs. We run the town’s food pantry; offer residents door to door transportation for medical appointments; sponsor a van service within town for residents to access the grocery store, banks, hair salons, etc; provide visits to local nursing/rehabilitation homes; sponsor a free ESL [English as a Second Language] tutoring program for adults; sponsor the CAP Program [Child Assault Prevention]in the local elementary schools and have a huge holiday support program for residents. We also have a thrift shop where all proceeds from the sale of donated items stay in Needham and helps support our social service programs. We sponsor many projects with other Needham organizations, both public and private and are the host agency for the town-wide Needham Coalition for Suicide Prevention.
