Needs Beyond Medicine

Needs Beyond Medicine is a Utah based nonprofit organization dedicated to reducing the burden of cancer on individuals undergoing treatment by providing financial assistance for non-medical expenses. In addition to the Relief Program, the organization conducts community outreach and educational initiatives promoting early detection and cancer awareness. Vision Statement: Our long-term vision includes expanding partnerships to ensure every cancer patient in need has access to vital resources, regardless of geographical location. Expand Relief Program Funding: We provide financial assistance that goes beyond medical expenses, easing the burdens of cancer patients and their families. Our goal is to distribute at least 180 grants of $575 annually, paired with additional resources that offer comfort and relief during challenging times. Host Educational Outreach Events: We educate the community about cancer risk factors, early symptoms, and available treatment options through at least six annual events, ensuring that individuals are empowered to seek help early and make informed decisions. Signature Yearly Fundraising Events: Our signature events, such as canSURVIVE and the Karen P. Brown Relief Golf Tournament, not only raises essential funds but also engages our community in celebrating resilience and hope. Forge Strategic Alliances: By forging strategic alliances with community advocates and healthcare partners, we expand our reach, strengthen referral networks, and amplify our educational and support services, ultimately impacting more lives.
