Nekawa was founded by an Indigenous Brazilian woman, Tatiana Tupinambá, and her partner, Charles D. Johnston, an American who successful treated his heroin addiction with ibogaine. Together, they put together the most experienced Ibogaine team in the world, including medical professionals who have treated thousands of cases, including complex detoxes from fentanyl, methadone, suboxone, crack, cocaine, alcohol, psychiatric meds and other addictive substances. Nekawa also participates in research and contributes to the global medical understanding of Ibogaine’s potential to treat substance use disorders.
