N10 is a community of “Connectors” who make professional introductions and are paid 10% of the value of any deal that comes to fruition. We are solving the problem of how people monetize their networking skills. Why? Some people would like to get paid for who they know and how they make quality introductions that lead to new business.but right now there really isn't a straightforward way to “make a buck” off that interaction. So N10 is establishing a transparent process that assigns a tangible value on introductions and creates a mechanism for "Connectors" to be paid for their value-add. The thinking behind this concept is that we believe in recognizing someone's effort and paying them should be based on performance. And our research suggests that usually people and companies are willing to pay 10% of the value of any "deal" that actually happens. So if that payment of 10% to the Connector happens ONLY when a deal happens then one might consider that a "guaranteed" marketing expense. The key to success for this experiment is that ONLY quality introductions are made where the Connector knows (and knows well) the the people they are introducing. Blind introductions are not acceptible and there has to be a specific common thread or opportunity at hand for both parties. Connectors and their introductions are closely examined: logged, tracked and scored through a Yelp-like dashboard and there are minimum activity requirements (# of intros) to maintain community membership. The result? Both Connectors and those introduced (the Introducees) benefit tangibly, the marketing dollars spent are guaranteed and if a deal doesn't happen then the (only?) result is that an intro was made which likely would have happened anyway and networking karma prevails.
