New District
Launched in 2013, New District’s mission is to simplify the enjoyment of wine by empowering wine drinkers with knowledge, choice, and access. To make this happen, we’re developing an end-to-end platform that enables small and mid-sized B.C. craft wineries, access to the entire wine-buying market, including both consumers and restaurants. What iTunes did for music, we will do for wine. We’ve assembled a rockstar team including the backers of Seattle’s Best Coffee, investors in SPUD, to one of the leading wine educators and resources in B.C, among others. BC wine drinkers spent 1 billion on wine last year. Half of this was spent on wine grown and made in B.C. However 80% of the wine sold is from only three suppliers leaving 250 small to mid sized wineries without access to the market. Statistics show that 94% of wine SKU’s at the BCLDB come from those same three suppliers. That’s where the platform we’re creating, and ultimately you come in.
