New Georges

New Georges, founded in New York City in 1992, advocates for an intergenerational ecosystem of exuberant theatrical minds, furthering fierce new works along with long-term wellbeing, expanding aesthetic boundaries and gender equity in tandem. New Georges has premiered 100s of new plays and produced 12 festivals of new work; many more have passed through The Room, our workspace, on their way to venues in New York City and beyond. The influx of New Georges artists into the field as a whole over the last 30 years has had marked impact on the representation of women nationwide in theater, film, television and arts education.
