You may, for instance, see people call themselves a "Cognitive Hypnotherapist" or a "regression Therapist" Whilst I have been trained in several disciplines I believe that any past traumas you have had should not be relived again. I work in a way called "Content Free". Definition of Content Free Therapy Content Free has a specific definition. It is a way of working to resolve your issues that does not require knowledge of the issue. You do not even have to tell me what the issue is or how you believe it started. In actual fact it can be my advantage if you do not tell me your version of events – because anything which you say is already run through your cognitive (conscious) filters. These filters include opinion, bias, pride, ego, embarrassment and even false memory. So anything you tell me, is to a greater or lesser extent a distortion of actual or perceived events. If I then commence a course of remedial work based on these distortions it is likely to lead to a possible negative outcome for you the client and a frustrating outcome for me the therapist. As such, bypassing these cognitive influences and dealing with the root-cause, held in the sub-conscious mind frees the client from the issue through simply releasing what the deeper mind is holding on to. So Content Free is NOT 'change work'. I am NOT trying to modify a behaviour. Modifying behaviours is at best a short term remedy. With the real problem still implanted in the deeper mind, either the initial presenting issue will return or a new issue will in time replace it. We call the return of an issue (or new issue) a “Client roll-back”. This is where you revert to your previous anxious self, for example as the real driving force behind the anxiety has not been removed. Content Free Therapy does not require the use of 'coping strategies'
