At Next Chapter Scotland, we believe no one’s future should be defined by their past. We are a charity based in Scotland, supporting people and families impacted by involvement with the criminal justice system. Through our helpline, advice services, and lived experience-led projects, we help people navigate stigma, exclusion, and the practical challenges that follow investigation or conviction. Our work is rooted in values of honesty, inclusion, empowerment, and compassion. We amplify the voices of those with lived experience, challenge discrimination, and advocate for a fairer justice system. Our Vision: A society where everyone has the right to turn the page and live their next chapter, informed by their past, shaped in their present, but hopeful for the future. Our Work Includes: A national helpline offering clear, non-judgemental advice. Support for families navigating life after conviction. Campaigning and storytelling to challenge stigma and influence change. Partnerships with organisations, communities, and employers to create pathways forward.
