Next Generation News

Next Generation News, Corp.(NGN) established January 2015 in Oakland, California and has been authorized by the State of California to operate as a Non-Profit to service children in the East Bay. NGN develops curriculum that teaches valuable skills and learning that connects meaningful community service with academic learning, personal growth and civic responsibility through broadcasting, for youth ages 8-18. In the class, students learn the fundamentals of digital video, including pre-production and post-production techniques. Students facilitate the overall production of NGN by developing content and producing original programming where they are held responsible for filming school events and community concerns. Through program participation, Next Generation News encourages youth voice and the opportunity to develop life skills such as decision-making, build self-esteem, goal setting and increase support systems to assist one another through life challenges and highlights. Overall NGN provides a platform for students to receive critical training, techniques and methodologies of broadcasting where they gain a sense of purpose and life skills to better prepare the next generation to take their place in the global economy.
