Nextkidney SG is a subsidiary of a Nextkidney, a medtech company co-founded by Dutch Kidney Foundation and supported by major Dutch health insurers and patients’ associations and medical professionals worldwide. Nextkidney has developed a sorbent based portable hemodialysis device, the Neokidney. It has low fluids requirement of 5L per treatment session. This makes dialysis possible wherever and whenever patients want. We want to use technological innovations to give kidney dialysis patients their lives back, enabling them to adapt the treatment to their lives instead of their lives being dictated by the treatment. The Neokidney aims to increased portability and reduce fluid requirement of hemodialysis treatments allowing patients to perform hemodialysis in the comfort of their homes (home hemodialysis, “HHD”). Our sorbent technology is the key innovation in reducing fluids per treatment session to 5-6 litres instead of 25-30 litres. Low fluid volumes simplifies logistic for home hemodialysis, enable the development of a lightweight compact device (less than 10kg) and ease of use.
