Where We Came From NextScreen Labs is a new, independent company spun off from NextScreen, a publisher of online, digital and print magazines, including Winding Road, AVGuide.com, and NextAutos.com. What was once a team devoted to the technological core of the business—working out the kinks and developing the products that make a digital publication successful—is now a team eager to offer its products, hard-earned experience and knowledge with clients ready to thrive in this market. Our Products It’s no secret that the magazine industry is changing rapidly. Of course, publishers still need loyal readers, advertisers need exposure and conversion, and readers will always want great content. Our innovative products and services help clients to achieve all these things. Essentially, we have a suite of online tools that will help grow a publisher’s reader base, get deeper demographic information for advertisers, and allow content providers to create richer, more targeted content. After hiring consultants and then experiencing long product development cycles—resulting in something that often missed the mark—in our own business, we vowed that NextScreen Labs would approach things differently. We believe that the best development process is customer driven. That means we begin by asking this question: “What is the base product we need to build before we can have our customer test it?” Because we don’t spend a lot of time and money developing a full-featured, “perfect” product, we prototype quickly, getting to the customer-feedback phase much sooner than would otherwise be possible. In this way, we hit the target of what’s needed by publishers, readers and advertisers much faster than a more traditional approach.
