Nexus Ethiopia

Nexus Ethiopia works to enhance the resilience capacities of vulnerable populations to shocks and deliver integrated and holistic HDP Nexus (Humanitarian-Development-Peace) Programmes to attain inclusive sustainable development. The increasingly protracted and recurrent nature of crises means that there is a greater range of overlapping and compounding needs and rising uncertainty within contexts. There is a greater urgency to respond quickly, and also to address the inequalities that put certain groups at particular and long-term risk, e.g. marginalized communities, women and youth. A more joined-up approach would offer opportunities to respond more effectively and holistically to people’s needs. To reflect this understanding, Nexus Ethiopia programmes follow the concept of a ‘humanitarian-development-peace nexus’.
