Niassa Wilderness

Niassa Wilderness is a private donor funded not for profit project, aiming to provide support to the Niassa Reserve, Northen Mozambique. With the dramatic increase in co-ordinated elephant poaching due to the demand in ivory, as with other key elephant populations in Africa. We aim to direct our efforts to help anti-poaching and law enforcement effectiveness, in order to combat this illegal wildlife trade and help to preserve this sacred place. We believe that by centrally consolidating various appropriate data sets, we can help to secure wilderness areas through the use of predictive modeling underpinned by sound data science and technological methods. Thereby, helping to ensure the safety and security of the the Niassa Reserve in this case, as well as the sustainable development and co-existence of wildlife, with the communities both within and surrounding the Reserve.
