We are an independent cafe in Manchester City Centre, based on Oldham Street in the Northern Quarter. It's our mission to make dietary requirements less stressful, whether this is in the cafe, from our online cake shop or with our corporate catering too. It's my own personal mission as a female business owner to use our platform to empower other women too.(Check out our Girls Can merch line!) Our days are a mix of serving our lovely customers at the cafe, baking for dietary requirements and catering for some brilliant businesses and events in and around Manchester, plus all the behind the scenes stuff that no-one sees! We have a gorgeous team of hard working and hilarious women who work make our space welcoming and inclusive for everyone. I started the cafe in 2017 with nothing but a passion for true hospitality and a hardcore work ethic. I’d always wanted a cafe of my own, but I had no money and no claim to fame for instant success. I did everything myself, because I had to, and I learnt, and made mistakes along the way. What you see now was built through blood, sweat, tears and a whole lot of love. Hospitality can be a really high pressure, male dominated industry, so I wanted to build my own female friendly space, where we were all listened to, where we all enjoyed working and where we could have a good laugh along the way. It’s not easy work, but we have a great time, and I love being surrounded by a team of super women who have become great friends. You can find us at our Manchester city centre cafe.
