I’m a freelance graphic designer, web designer, copywriter, and marketing and brand advisor, with 20 years' experience in print and digital marketing including: – Graphic design – Web design and web development – HTML email design – Logo design, identity and brand development – Copywriting My clients are from a wide range of sectors, most of whom I’ve been working with since I went it alone some 10 years ago, regarding me as an extension of their own marketing departments. I’m going to have to shout about my selling points now, which I find slightly awkward.but my lasting client relationships are probably down to three or possibly four things: 1. I like pushing creative boundaries. According to Sturgeon’s Law, “ninety percent of everything is cr*p”. It takes a bit more time and effort but to be in the other 10% is surely the only thing worth striving for? My raison d’être in this business is to find that elusive, lateral concept that will not get lost in the maelstrom of marketing feculence. I know that clients employ my services with ROI and their bottom line in mind. My business is to turn my clients' ideas into something active, tangible and profitable – nothing more. That might mean designing postcards or a brochure or building an ecommerce site…but I will as readily suggest writing a boring old plain text email over a pretty HTML one, if that is likely to have a higher open rate. I know that good design cannot prop up average content. My background is business and marketing so while I love providing visual concepts and designing creative print or online collateral that will invigorate a client's market, I know it is equally important that content is engaging, effectively delivers a client's message and increases traffic – and I'm always on hand to help with this too.
