Nirankari Darbar

A remarkable outcome of the doctrines of Nanak in modern times is to be found in the sect of the Nirankaris. The Nirnkar or Nirankar means properly The Formless, and it was a term commonly used by Baba Nanak as an equivalent of the Deity. He was at first known as Nanak Nirankari, and it is not impossible that many persons who identified themselves as Nirankaris mean that they are the followers of the formless God after the manner of Baba Nanak. This return to Nanak's teachings is one of the more significant developments of Sikhism of our times.
