Nithcree Training Services

Nithcree Training Services has been operating since at our head office site in Dumfries and since 2018 from our Perth site. Nithcree Training was born from an established family run haulage company - who later used their expertise and knowledge to cascade training to learner drivers to pass their HGV tests successfully. Now in 2022 the company continues to grow in strength with three instructors at Perth and nine at Dumfries. Our Perth site is strictly focussed on HGV training – from B+E familiarisation through to C+E licences and everything in between. Our instructors at Perth have a varied range of background in the industry and work At our site on Edinburgh Road at Dumfries we offer HGV driver training from B+E familiarisation through to C+E and continue to adapt our programme to give our trainees the first-rate experience that Nithcree has established an unrivalled reputation of in Dumfries and Galloway. In addition to HGV training, we also provide training in forklifts (RTITB), crane (ALLMI), ADR, CPC courses and NPORS. We work with employers and individuals – from complete beginners to refreshers – and with our experience, approachable nature and vast knowledge we get our trainees the results they want! We are also able to offer site visits to customers across Scotland. One of our biggest projects to date is our Modern Apprenticeship scheme in association with Skills Development Scotland - which has been running since 2011. Since starting the project we have helped over trainees achieve their HGV licence along with an SVQ in Driving Goods Vehicles. The project is designed to be non-disruptive to the work place; 9 SVQ units are completed over three on-the-job assessment visits with an assessor from Nithcree Training Services to gain the SCQF Level 6 in Driving Goods Vehicles.
